Frequently asked questions

Where do the quiz clues come from?
Every clue is read straight from the same provider dataset that powers the comparison pages — founding year, network technologies, the operators each ISP rides on, fair use posture, support channels and hours, and the aggregated customer rating. Nothing is written specially for the quiz.
Why are Vumatel, Openserve and Frogfoot not answers?
Those are network operators, not internet service providers. They build and run the physical line, but you buy your service from an ISP that rides on top of them, so 'which provider is this?' has no meaningful answer for an operator. They have their own pages under Networks.
Does the quiz use pricing?
No. Prices on this site are only ever published when they have been read from the provider's own page and timestamped, and most of the matrix has no currently-verified figure. Building quiz questions on prices would mean either using a handful of providers or inventing numbers, so the clues use editorial fields instead.
Is it the same quiz every day?
No — it is a fresh run every time you play. Both the providers and the specific clues shown for each are drawn at random, so replaying gives you different questions rather than the same puzzle.
